
Volunteer Regional Shelter Animal Transfer Driver

· Are you passionate about animal welfare? · Do you have experience with animals? · Do you like to drive long distances? · Have you got a driver’s licence and can tow a trailer?
This rewarding volunteer role involves collecting animals from the RSPCA Shelters - Bundaberg, Gympie & Noosa and transferring animals between the shelters and to local vet surgeries. A dedicated animal transfer vehicle is provided and interested volunteers will need to be experienced in towing a trailer. This role requires the volunteer to have initiative and common sense as they will be responsible for the safe transportation of animals.
A courteous and considerate driver whom represents the RSPCA in a positive manner (whilst driving high profile vehicles that clearly display the RSPCA logo) It also involves interaction with outside agencies which are vital contacts for the RSPCA.
This volunteer roles iscurrently available on a fortnightly basis any day Monday - Friday. A commitment of at least one fortnightly shift for a minimum of three months is required. Full orientation and training is provided. Please send an email including a copy of your resume and your availability.
Skills required – Current open driver’s licence - sound driving ability, clean licence and ability to cope in traffic. Positive people and animal handling skills.
Skills to be gained – Improved animal handling skills. Understanding of RSPCA shelter operations.
