
Volunteer Dog Walker

This rewarding volunteer role is situated close to the town/city centre and would suit any applicants wishing to gain experience in the animal industry, people that love animals, and anyone looking for a worthwhile way to spend their spare time.
The position itself involves taking dogs of all shapes and sizes for walks in the area surrounding our shelter; you may also like to do some training with the dogs to assist them in finding a new home. The position is available 7 days of the week 9am - 12pm. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3hours per week for a period of 3months. Full orientation and training is provided.
Skills required – Animal confidence, the ability to work independently.
Skills to be gained – Animal handling and training techniques, animal disease control, animal shelter experience, experience with many different breeds of dog.
