
Volunteer Groomer

This rewarding volunteer role would suit any applicants that love animals, people wishing to work with animals, and anyone looking for a worthwhile way to spend their spare time.
The position involves grooming/bathing the shelter animals and you will gain insights into the canine and feline species, their breeds, personalities, anatomies and health issues. Ideally you will have had previous grooming experience and have the applicable grooming tools and are confident in handling animals.
We ask for a commitment of 1 shift per week for a minimum of 3 months. You will be trained in how to use the hydrobath and basic animal handling techniques.
Skills required – Some knowledge of animal grooming, experience with animal handling, the ability to work independently, the ability to stand for long periods, good customer service skills.
Skills to be gained – Animal handling and training techniques, animal shelter experience and basic animal behaviour knowledge.
